Warranty Period For services provided by any Repco Authorised Service workshop, the warranty is for a period of 12 months or 20,000kms (whichever comes first) from the date of your invoice. Claims If you need to make a claim under the warranty, please contact the Repco Authorised Service workshop that originally completed the work on your vehicle. The workshop where the work was originally performed will be responsible for responding to and accepting claims. If the original workshop can't help, they may authorise another workshop in the network to assist. Terms and Conditions What does the warranty cover? The Repco Authorised Service workshop will have the option of reperforming, replacing or repairing the good or service if it is or becomes defective during the warranty period, at no additional charge.
a.       Where the good or service is replaced, repaired or reperformed pursuant to this warranty, the replacement good or reperformed service will be subject to the terms of this warranty commencing on the date of the original invoice.
b.       If you request for a good to be repaired, your Repco Authorised Service workshop may choose to replace the good with a refurbished good of the same type. The warranty will cover any reasonable diagnosis or scanning fees conducted by the relevant Repco Authorised Service workshop, if such goods or services are later found to be defective. If the work done on your vehicle involves the supply of services from another service provider nominated by the Repco Authorised Service centre, the warranty offered by such service provider will replace this Nationwide Warranty to the extent of such goods .  The Repco Authorised Service centre will advise you of the terms and conditions of such warranty. The rights and obligations under this warranty remain solely with the original Repco Authorised Service workshop that provided you with the product or service. The benefit of this warranty is personal to you and is not transferable. What does the warranty not cover? This warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear and consumable goods such as globes, wipers, and fluids; loss of any data stored in your vehicle like music or phone numbers; and any incidental loss or damage caused by the defect, such as towing fees, loss of profits, loss of use and loss of goodwill or other loss or damage that cannot reasonably be considered to arise normally. This warranty is void if the defect is a consequence of misuse, neglect, abuse, incorrect operation or improper maintenance of the vehicle, accident, or other use that is not otherwise caused by a Repco Authorised Service workshop. How to submit a warranty claim Step 1: Have your original invoice ready. Step 2: Ensure that you make your claim within the warranty period. Step 3:  Please contact the Repco Authorised Service centre that carried out the relevant repairs or maintenance on your vehicle. Their contact details are on  your original invoice.  Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law The goods and services acquired from a Repco Authorised Service workshop comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

A Long-Held Dream, Finally Hit the Road The owner of this 1992 Holden VQ Caprice had held onto the car for over 10 years, always hoping for the right time to bring it back to life. The goal was simple — make the car safe, reliable, and roadworthy so it could be registered and driven again. Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are protected by a Consumer Guarantee which takes into account purchase price, realistic expectations of when a failure might occur, advertising claims and the conditions under which a vehicle should operate. Previously known as a Statutory Warranty, the Consumer Guarantee does not have a specific time limit associated with it nor can it ever be replaced by a manufacturers warranty, which is in addition to the Consumer Guarantee. What is a manufacturers warranty? Manufacturers warranties are essentially a promise to the buyer that the new vehicle will be free from defects for a specific time and that any such defects will entitle buyers to a repair or other compensation. According to the Competition and Consumer Act (2010), such warranties cannot state that a vehicle must be returned to an authorised dealer for service. What is an express or extended warranty? Often new car dealers will try to include "express" or "extended" warranties, sometimes for free, in the purchase of your new vehicle. When the owner of this 2020 Y62 Nissan Patrol visited Rawson Motors, they reported that the air-conditioning system was no longer working. Given the size of the vehicle and its dual-zone A/C system, proper cooling throughout the cabin is essential—especially for families and long-distance touring. Our team had previously carried out diagnostic testing and confirmed the fault:
The A/C lines had become dislodged from their mountings and were rubbing, causing a leak. We identified the leak was located between the body and the chassis of the vehicle. Repairing these lines requires extensive access that is not possible with standard in-situ methods. 1. Initial Findings & Diagnosis A/C completely inoperative Confirmed line failure and refrigerant loss Leak located within rear A/C pipework running between the body and chassis sections Repairs required major disassembly and body-lift procedures to access affected components 2. Vehicle Preparation & Fluid Management Before separating the cab from the chassis, all connected fluids and dependent systems must be safely drained or isolated: Drained coolant Drained power steering fluid Drained brake fluid Vacuumed the A/C system Ensured all lines were depressurised and safe to disconnect 3. Disassembly & Cab-Lift Process To access the A/C pipework, a large portion of the body structure required removal. The team undertook the following: External & Structural Component Removal Removed rear bumper cover and accessories Removed front bumper cover and accessories Removed inner guard liners Removed relevant trims Removed core support and reinforcement systems Removed thermo fan shroud Mechanical & System Disconnections Disconnected battery cables Disconnected handbrake cable Disconnected transmission cables Disconnected fuel filler neck Removed intake airbox and related assemblies Wiring, Brake & Cooling System Disconnections Disconnected wiring harnesses Disconnected brake hoses where required Disconnected cooling system hoses Disconnected wheel speed sensors Disconnected breathers and body harnesses Body-to-Chassis Separation Loosened and removed all body mounts Completed the full body-from-chassis lift to expose the A/C lines routed between the chassis rails and underbody structures This provided the clear access required to safely replace the damaged lines. 4. A/C & Heater Line Replacement With the body lifted: Located and replaced the failed A/C pipes Replaced an additional heater pipe discovered to be degraded Ensured all mounting points, insulation and grommets were correctly fitted to prevent future wear 5. Reassembly & System Restoration The vehicle was then reassembled with the same level of care and precision: Reversed the entire disassembly procedure Reconnected all wiring, mechanical systems and lines Refilled, bled and calibrated all fluids: Coolant, Brake fluid, Power steering fluid Re-evacuated and re-gassed the A/C system Performed full leak testing and operational verification 6. The Final Result After thorough testing, the Patrol’s air-conditioning systems were fully restored, with strong, consistent cooling throughout the cabin. No leaks were detected and all vehicle systems operated as intended.
